A Journey of Understanding and Innovation
Since 2008, I have been dedicated to helping people break through the unique obstacles that often hold them back when living with autism or Asperger’s syndrome. My work isn't about fitting you into a standard model; it’s about creating a therapeutic space that actually fits you.
Bridging the Gap through Connection
I’ve always believed that therapy should be accessible, no matter the barriers. Back in 2008, I recognised that social anxiety often kept autistic individuals confined to their homes. To open those closed doors, I began offering video consultations long before they became mainstream.
While some of my work still takes place over video, I am deeply passionate about in-person, relational work. Seeing you at my practice in Weldon, Northamptonshire, allows us to engage more fully in the healing process.
The Wisdom of the Body
In 2017, I realised how perfectly my autism-specific therapeutic model resonated with body psychotherapy. This led me to complete an intensive eight-year training program at the Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre, where I became a Clinically Accredited Body Psychotherapist (UKCP Reg: 2011166457) in the Summer of 2025.
This "embodied" approach is personal for me. My own journey with fibromyalgia following a surgical complication in 2005 taught me to listen to my body’s wisdom. I bring this hard-won understanding to our sessions, helping you find a sense of psychological coherence and physical peace.
Grounded in Community and Service
My commitment to this field goes beyond the therapy room:
-
Founder of Action for Neurodiversity: In 2016, I was honoured to be the first person to receive a Queen’s Honour (MBE) for services to Asperger’s syndrome.
-
Academic & Clinical Depth: I hold a Master’s Degree in Autism and a Postgraduate Certificate in Asperger’s Syndrome.
-
Lived Experience: I carry over 25 years of lived experience of familial autism, giving me a profound, personal understanding of the complexities of neurodiverse life.
A Space Designed for You
In my therapy room, we move at your pace. Whether we are sitting in exceptionally comfortable snuggler chairs for traditional talk therapy or using a floor-based arrangement for somatic movement, the environment is designed to be low-hierarchy and supportive. With views of the garden and the warmth of a log-burning stove in winter, it is a place where you can feel grounded and safe.

For over two decades, I have been passionate about sharing what I’ve learned to help bridge the gap between clinical frameworks and lived experience. I regularly contribute thought-leadership articles to respected journals and specialist magazines like BACP Healthcare, Autism Eye, Living Autism, and SEN Magazine. My writing explores the heart of neurodiverse life—from navigating trauma and masking to the complexities of diagnosis and workplace challenges.
You can explore a collection of these pieces on my Publications page.
I’d love to keep the conversation going. I regularly share updates, clinical insights, and reflections on neurodiversity via my Facebook page, and you are warmly invited to connect with me there.
I hold my private practice 1–3 days per week from my therapy room in Weldon, Northamptonshire, dedicating the rest of my time to the charitable work that remains so close to my heart.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little more about my world. I look forward to perhaps becoming a part of yours.
