Autism Diagnosis and Assessment

Autism diagnosis should not be the opinion of one person according to NICE guidelines. A multi-agency approach to diagnosis is usually recommended. I can assist by providing an academic, non-clinical (gateway) assessment for this purpose. Some individuals might wish to pursue a formal clinical diagnosis following my assessment, while others may simply wish to seek support that they are “barking up the right tree” after many days/years of feeling “different”. The cost of the assessment is £400 including 28 pages+ report.

Should an individual wish to proceed on to a clinical pathway from the gateway assessment, I work as second clinician to Dr Miranda Gaylor, chartered clinical psychologist, doing clinical diagnoses for autism/autism spectrum.  The cost of this final, second stage, is £1,005 including clinical report. Dr Gaylor is a HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist and DHA Registered Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience of working with people with autism/autism spectrum. She is a chartered psychologist with The British Psychological Society.

Dr Gaylor and I work with 13+ age group onwards through to adult.  We are particularly experienced in “late diagnosis”.  Most late diagnoses we do are conducted by video. Child diagnoses must be conducted with the client attending in person in Northamptonshire.

Both Dr Gaylor and Elaine Nicholson offer post-diagnostic support. Dr Gaylor’s rate is £120.00 per session, while Elaine Nicholson’s rate is £75.00 per session.

ADHD

Please note that Dr Gaylor does ADHD diagnostic work. The price of a full ADHD diagnosis is £650.00. Dr Gaylor also does ADHD individual coaching that is charged at £120.00 per session.

Psychological Therapy

Dr Gaylor can offer psychological therapy using a variety of techniques (EMDR/CBT/DBT/ACT/Hypnotherapy) at a rate of £120.00 per session.
