Neurodivergent Relationship Counselling

Neurodivergent relationships can be deeply meaningful, yet they often come with a unique set of complexities. Differences in communication, sensory needs, and processing speeds can sometimes create distance or conflict.

Having navigated neurodiverse relationships personally, I understand the delicate dynamics involved. I offer a structured, autism-informed space that helps couples move from blame to clarity, focusing on improving mutual understanding and reducing escalation.

Autism Diagnosis and Assessment

If you are questioning whether autism may be part of your life story, I offer a structured pre-diagnostic assessment process. Diagnosis is a significant step and should never be approached lightly. We will explore developmental history, sensory patterns, and lived experience together. For many, gaining this clarity brings a profound sense of validation and a renewed sense of identity.

Family Therapy & Repair

Autism affects the entire family system, not just the individual. I work with families navigating communication breakdowns, parental strain, or the painful experience of adult estrangement. Family therapy provides a safe, respectful space where every voice is heard. Our goal is not to find blame, but to build understanding and, where possible, facilitate repair.

Specialist Supervision for Professionals

I offer specialist supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists, particularly those navigating the sensitive work of supporting clients through parental estrangement and parental alienation, especially where neurodiversity or autism is a contributing factor. This is an ethically grounded, reflective space designed to help you explore the deep complexities of safeguarding, diagnostic uncertainty, and the intense relational dynamics that these cases often present.

Given the emotionally charged nature of estrangement and alienation, having a specialist understanding of how neurodevelopmental differences impact family systems is essential. My aim is to provide you with the support needed to maintain a safe, competent, and thoughtful practice.

Two Girls Talking

The Sanctuary, A Space for Embodied Healing

Whether we meet to explore your neurodivergent identity or to process deep-seated trauma, the environment we work in is a vital part of your therapeutic journey. My practice in Weldon, Northamptonshire, is more than just an office; it is a sensory-informed sanctuary designed to support both traditional talking therapy and deep, somatic work.

A Room That Listens to Your Needs

I believe that your physical surroundings should offer the same validation and safety as our conversation. The therapy room features:

Comfort and Choice: Most clients enjoy our exceptionally comfortable “snuggler” chairs, which provide a relaxed yet supportive space for dialogue.

A Grounded Environment: For those engaging in body psychotherapy, a floor-based mattress configuration is available. This low-hierarchy arrangement enhances your sense of grounding and proprioceptive awareness, helping you feel truly supported by the earth beneath you.

Nature as a Co-Therapist: Large windows offer a calming view of the garden, providing a connection to the natural world that many find deeply grounding.

Sensory Warmth: During the colder months, the gentle visual rhythm and warmth of a log-burning stove provide an extra layer of sensory comfort to support our work.

If you would like to learn more about my dedicated somatic practice and the philosophy behind this embodied approach, I warmly invite you to visit my Body Psychotherapy website.

In-Person Connection

While I continue to offer secure video consultations for accessibility, there is a unique, relational depth found in working together in person. As a body psychotherapist, I value the shared energy of a physical space where we can fully attend to the “wisdom of the body” and facilitate experiences of embodied peace
